August 08, 2003

the friday five (travel)   (friday five)

1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
I travel to DC a lot to see my girlfriend, and the last time I did that was saturday (Aug 2).

2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
One time, when I was still wee, I went to Tulsa, Oklahoma cause someone in my extended family was getting married. On the way to the service, I was getting in the car, and my Uncle Ed (who was late, and is now 'the late', RIP) started driving off before I was completely in the car. That wasn't too cool, even less so because the combination of the car moving forward and the tendency of objects at rest to stay at rest closed the door on my leg momentarily and I was dragged beside the car for what seemed like a stunned forever. I was ok, but I ripped my suit. I'm sure Ed felt terrible, and I don't remember how I felt, but it's terribly funny now that I'm looking back on it.

3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
Somewhere tropical, and preferably deserted. I've never been to any tropical areas, even like Cancún or Jamaica or anything.

4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
I like to be in control, thankyouverymuch... of my *cough*chevy cavalier*cough*.

5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
I'm going to Avon, NC the last week of August, including both weekends! That's south of Kill Devil Hills, in case anyone wants to know.
